Micromax Canvas 4 A210 vs Canvas A110Q 2 Plus vs Canvas HD A116

Micromax, which is now one of the most selling mobile brand in India. Once a small player is now competing against big and establish player in the market has created a lot of hype before the launch of their much awaited Canvas 4 A210.

There were already 11000+ pre-booking for the phone as Micromax was able to lure new buyers through their marketing and ad-campaign. Only recently they fully unwrapped curtain from its pricing and specification and now everywhere you can only here voice of disappointments, even faithful MMX users are complaining.

However, lets first see what Micromax has been offering with this phone. Micromax used some strong words and advertisement campaigns to promote this phone.

Micromax 4 Life can be endless

But still after launch it was not clear what they were referring to all the time, is that the phone has high capacity battery, but that is not true, it comes only with 2000mAh battery, then what else they are referring to by “Life Can be Endless” , may be that phone comes anodized aluminium shell which makes it life longer . Anyways, next they are offering a feature which allows you to unlock your screen by blowing air on the phone, nice touch but how much premium it is, blowing air on Microphone is not something big.

Camera wise, it has 5MP front facing camera and 13MP rear ie. primary camera, now not sure what is the quality as we are still going to have an extensive test on images but with sony sensor, is it really a camera from Micromax which can be consider 13 MP . Considering qualities we have seen in previous Micromax phones, we doubt if this time camera can make any difference.

It further allows you to play multiple video on same screen, so what’s the big deal, there are already certain media player in Google Play store which allows you to watch video in a part of screen while you do other work. But how many actually watch video and work simultaneously?

Another interesting feature is that pauses a video if you stare away, something similar was first shown in Samsung Galaxy S4 but nothing break through.

So, if you look and compare all three in terms of technical specifications, all the three phones are running same processor and chipset, so in terms of power all of them are essentially same, even they have similar RAM ie. 1GB. The main difference is the camera, while A110 Q Plus Canvas 2 and A116 HD have 8MP primary camera and 2MP secondary camera, the Canvas 4 A210 comes with 13MP primary camera with Sony lens and 5MP secondary camera. Rest you can see there is not much difference, however, Canvas 4 is slimmest in all 3.

Now lets have some Benchmarks:

Micromax Canvas 4 A210 Benchmarks:

Verdict:

Apart of better build quality, some minor feature enhancements and improved camera, we don’t see anything significant in Micromax Canvas 4 A210, now it is upto the end user to decide whether to pay a premium of almost Rs. 18000 to grab this phone or look for some better alternative available in market.
