However, if you are using Android then you may have to wait a little as the feature is now only available to new iOS update. For Android, they will gradually role out update with this new feature.
Along with longer 60 second video, you will be also able to combine multiple video clip together inside Instagram itself. It means you don’t have to use any third party app to combine your videos you made through camera.
Also as per Instagram, video engagement has increased by 40% in last 6 months. It is among one of the reason why they are paying more attention to videos on Instagram. The 60 seconds limits was already rolled out to advertisers in February which saw positive results along with adding public view counts, which spurred publishers and advertisers to make more videos. The company also began collecting top videos around special occasions and promoting them at the top of the feed, Snapchat-style. Combining all created more engagement around videos.
Longer videos also implies that they may be able to grab some of the vlogging market of services like Youtube and Vimeo. As per official post by Instgram, “Longer videos mean more diverse stories from the accounts you love, whether it’s Selena Gomez (@selenagomez) hanging out with friends or beauty star Bretman Rock’s (@bretmanrock) latest makeup tutorial.”
