HTC Desire 500 with Sense 5, Quad Core and 8MP camera announced

HTC Corporation, Taiwan based consumer goods and electronics manufacturing company which is facing little tough time making good sales in country has been launching a slew of devices off late and the latest pawn to join the army is dubbed as HTC Desire 500 which is packed with some nice features and specifications.

However, company has restricted the announcement for Taiwan only and is expected to roll out globally very soon. The information regarding it’s availability in India and other parts of the world is still a mystery but as soon as the global rollout commences we let you know. Coming towards its specifications and features, this device supports dual Sim (GSM+GSM) with dual standby technology which enable a single person to remain active onto multiple Sims at a single instance of time. In Indian smartphone industry, this feature is feature is very much appreciated by a majority of smartphone buyers. Giving a glance towards its frame up, this device comes with a decent 4.3 inch of capacitive touch screen display with 480 × 800 of pixels resolution.

Dealing with it’s platform dependency, this device sails on Android 4.1 jelly bean operating system powered with a snapdragon 200 processor running at a clock speed of 1.2 Ghz. Support of quad core processor in this device ensures that the user will enjoy working on several threads at once. In terms of storage specifications, this device supports 1GB of RAM which is enough to run bunch of applications together. Internal memory is 4GB which can be expanded up to 64GB via micro SD card slot. Enumerating its connectivity options, this device supports 3G (HSDPA up to 7.2 Mbps), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA, Bluetooth 4.0 with aptX, GPS, NFC (Optional).

Briefing its photography specifications, this device comes with both the primary and secondary snapper options. On the back panel the primary camera is rated at 5 MEGAPIXEL while on the front side a 1.6 MEGAPIXEL of secondary camera is their for video calling. To power it up, this device comes with 1800 mAh battery which claims to deliver a decent amount of talktime and standby time.

The expected of HTC Desire 500 in Taiwan is Rs 23,700. As per our view it is a slightly overpriced however, that is just an approximation, hopefully if it comes to India, HTC will go for some better price tags.
